STASIA DROZE JOST

Stasia began working in the film industry as a production assistant on Richie Rich where she was tasked with delivering Macaulay Culkin from his trailer to set without stopping to play basketball with the teamsters. Since then, she has worn many filmmaking hats.

Most recently, she received a 2021 regional Emmy® award as producer/director/writer/editor for Ballet Hawaii’s #ArtsBeyondCovid PSA and a nomination for The Nutcracker: A Gift to the Community, an ABC/KITV holiday special. She was a producer on Ready Forward, starring Amy Hill (Magnum PI) and Dennis Chun (Hawaii 5-0) and In Our Own Hands, featuring the plight of MMIW, Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women. 

Stasia was also a producer on Election Night, an AFI short film starring Peri Gilpin (Frasier) that premiered in the Cannes Film Festival’s Emerging Filmmakers Showcase, among other festivals. Teaming up with her husband Jim Jost, Stasia produced and edited the silent film trilogy Cubed, which was honored at Honolulu’s Showdown in Chinatown.

As commercial director and photographer, Stasia’s client list includes Champion Sportswear, TJ Maxx, Hanes, Nike and Bank of America. She has photographed Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan and Maria Sharapova. Her work was featured in Will Smith’s NAACP award-winning music video Just The Two of Us.

Stasia lives with her family in Hawaii and California.
