JIM JOST

With over 25 years of experience in the film industry, Jim’s IMDb lists NCIS Hawaii, Magnum PI, Hawaii 5-0, Numb3rs, Alias and The Parent Trap, among many others.  His decade-long tenure on 5-0 and Magnum PI includes credits as director, director of photography, 2nd unit DP and operator. He is currently working on NCIS Hawaii as a camera operator and 2nd unit DP. Jim was director and DP on the short film Ready Forward, starring Amy Hill and Dennis Chun, premiering at the 2022 Sedona International Film Festival.

Jim wrote, directed and shot the short film trilogy Cubed featuring Kenobi Cube, which was honored at Honolulu's Showdown in ChinatownHe was cinematographer on Election Night, an AFI short film starring Peri Gilpin (Frasier) and comedian Jake Johannsen, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at the American Pavilion. Election Night won a Special Jury Award at the USA Film Festival and an Award of Excellence at the International Film Festival of Women. The film has been honored at a number of other festivals including the Florida Film Festival, the Dubai Golden Palmera Film Festival, and The Los Angeles Comedy Film Festival.

Jim was DP on Leave Keys In Car, winner of an Award of Excellence at the Best Shorts Fest, Best Comedy at the Lady Filmmaker Festival, and a Best of Fest selection at the Bahamas International Film Festival. He also operated on The Bungler's, recipient of the Platinum Award for Cinematography at the 45th WorldFest Houston International Film Festival.

Jim lives with his family in Hawaii and California.
